Copic Colour Challenge #15

It's Wednesday, which means that it is time for another Copic Colour Challenge! This weeks colours are R59 (Cardinal), YG63 (Pea Green) and C3 (Cool Grey). I must admit that when I first saw these colours, I did panic a bit.... but once I found this super cute Greetings Farm image, I knew I'd be alright!

By the way, it's worth noting that you don't have to have the exact Copic colours listed in order to play along - just find your nearest matching colour and use that. On this occasion, I didn't have R59 so I used my nearest matching shade, R37.

Goodie List........
Stamps:
The Greeting Farm 'McSplendid Farm' from Dies to Die For.
Paper: Basic Grey 'Offbeat', Core'dinations CS.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copic markers.
Tools & Embellishments: Nestabilities, silver brads from stash.

Hope you can play along with us this week!
P.S. Don't forget the sketch competition currently running on the Dies to Die For blog! You could win a set of the new Miss Anyas! You have until 31 May......

Roses on Paper - One for the Boys!

Well, I'm back and what a weekend?! We had a great time but we came home to a few wildlife problems which had to be tackled, namely a dead baby magpie, fish euthanasia and an ant infestation..... It wasn't the best arrival home we have ever had, I can tell you! Luckily we have today to recover!

Anyway, I would like to share a card I made the other day for my colleague at work. The brief was, "8 year old boy who likes the army". Well, what better image to use than this little 'Hero' from The Greeting Farm?! I actually received this image as part of a recent image swap, however, I know that they are in stock at Dies to Dies For at the moment.

This is also my entry in to the 12th Rose on Paper challenge - One for the Boys! This is the kind of theme I normally run and hide from but I'm dead chuffed I actually have something to enter this time! BTW, you can't see it from this pic but I actually cut my little Hero out and mounted him with silicon glue for an added bit of definition.

Goodie List........
Stamps:
'Hero' by The Greeting Farm, from Dies to Die For.
Digital Paper: Camo Boys, Core'dinations cardstock.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copics.
Tools & Embellishments: Nestabilities Labels 1 (with matting layer cut down), Card Candy.

Apologies if you have sent me an email over the last couple of days, I promise I will answer soon! I came back after 2 days away to discover 89 emails in my inbox! ARGH! Hope you all enjoyed the weekend sunshine and that your tan/burn lines aren't as weird as mine!

P.S. Does anybody watch Dirty Sexy Money?! I'm totally addicted and utterly devastated to hear that it has been cancelled! Boo hoo sob sob! ~♥~

Copic Colour Challenge #14 & News!

Well, the eagle-eyed amongst you have already noticed this but...... I have been asked to be on the Copic Colour Challenge DT! Of course, I love my Copics so much that I leapt at the chance! I've known for a week or two now but wanted to wait until my first challenge to let you all know properly :o)

This week we are on challenge #14 and the colour combo is B14, R27 and Y08. Once again, I've used one of my new Anya's. I know, I know, I have an addiction! I promise the next card I share might not be an Anya..... can't promise anything though!

I am seriously chuffed with my flowers, even if I do say so myself! They are print outs from the digi-kit I used (Zoe Pearn - who else?!) but I attacked them with an improvised embossing tool and some spongy brad packaging and they are now all curvy and shapely. I know everyone else has been doing this for yonks but, as it was my first time, I'm feeling very pleased with myself!

Goodie List........
Stamps:
'Rain, Snow & Shine' by Greetings Farm - available from Dies to Die For
Digital Paper: 'Close to my Heart' by Zoe Pearn - Sweet Shoppe Designs
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copics.
Embellishments & Tools: Nestabilities, flowers from the digi kit, ribbon & brads from stash.

Hope you can join in with this weeks challenge!

Wonder Why we All Picked Rain?!

As you have probably spotted from some of my DTDF DT mates blogs, the new Miss Anya's have well and truly arrived! Tracy did have some in stock but I'm not sure now...... Best visit the lovely Dies To Die For store to find out hadn't you?!

There is a bit of a running DTDF DT joke about this image. Without any prior discussion, we all chose 'Miss Rain' to use first! Could it be that she is gorgeous?! Or is it more to do with the awful weather at the moment?!

Goodie List........
Stamps: 'Rain, Snow & Shine' by The Greeting Farm - from Dies to Die For
Sentiment: 'Sassy Sayings' by My Favorite Things
Digital Paper: Designer Digitals.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copics.
Embellishments & Tools: Nestabilities, flower and button from stash.

Gotta dash, still not done my morning Wii Fit session yet!

A Few Little Projects....

Hey folks! It's the weekend, woo-hoo! It's been another manic one for me unfortunately, and I was forced to work at home today so that people couldn't hound me! Gawd knows what I will go back to on Monday though....

This week I got to make a card for a really nice occasion. It's a card for my friend to celebrate the birth of her 2nd gorgeous baby - Matthew. I struggled to find an image amongst my stash that was suitable so I went on the search of a digi image which would be appropriate. I was dead chuffed when I discovered this little beauty!

I had to doctor the Pink Petticoat papers a bit to make them match though..... They were originally in a pale pink and I wanted Sweetcorn and Envy. I worked out the RGB codes from some other PP sets I have and then altered the background colour of the original heart ones using these numbers. Voila! Funky, coordinated papers!

Goodie List........
Digi Stamps: 'Elephant Walk' from Cuddly Buddly.
Paper: Pink Petticoat Christmas Freebie set.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Copic markers and Copic Spica Pen.
Embellishments: Craftwork Cards 'Card Candy'.

This week, I've also been getting frustrated with my Copic Storage. They were in a huge pencil case and it was taking me ages to find the right colours. So, I took and idea on Kim's blog and expanded it a little using one of Lauren Meader's Timeless Templates.

I made two of the desk tidies and stuck them back to back as I knew that one wouldn't be enough for my ever expanding collection of Copics! I covered each panel with some giraffe print paper that Ali bought me as a little gift a couple of months ago.
I also made up a little grid thing from slotted together pieces of card. I made sure that each of the sections that were created were the perfect size for one Copic to stand up in. I'm really please that because they stand neatly and tidily, I can arrange them by colour family and by number. However, according to Ali, this makes me incredibly anal!
Hope you have a great weekend, despite this miserable weather!
P.S. Just realised that I can use both of these little project for this weeks Papertake challenge - Animal Antics - and also my Copic tidy for this weeks ABC Challenge 'Not a Card'! Woo-hoo for me! ~♥~

Friday Sketchers #51

I just had to have a go at the Friday Sketchers sketch this week as it looks so much fun. It was also another excuse to play with Miss Anya! I'll definitely be adding this sketch to the little folder I keep which contains all of my favourite sketches, as it is a great one for using up scraps.... and I could really do with using up some scraps!

Goodie List........
Stamps:
Miss Anya by The Greeting Farm - available from Dies to Die For.
Paper: Basic Grey - Urban Prairie, Bazzill CS.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Copic Markers, Copic Spica pen.
Embellishments & Tools: Curved Rectangle Nestabilities, Prima flowers, Papermania pearl brads and adhesive pearls from stash.

Ali and I have a bit of an in-joke that relates to this card. Basically, I always tend to match my eyeshadow to the top I am wearing. If I'm wearing a green top, the sparkly green eyeshadow appears. If it is a blue top, sparkly blue eyeshadow gets slapped on my lids. Consequently, Ali was immensely happy to see that I carried this attention to detail (or insanity?!) through to my card making.... turquoise dress, turquoise eyes!

Hope your week is going well - I'm looking forward to the weekend already!

Papertake - Dawny's Sketch

Woo-hoo! My Miss Anyas have landed! Thank you SO much Tracy - mwah, mwah mwah, lots of big sloppy kisses for you! I have other stuff I was supposed to be crafting today but everything got pushed aside so that I could play with these little babies!

I so enjoyed putting this card together. I guess that might have been partly due to my new stampies, my new Nesties and my new Zoe Pearn papers! Yeah, I might have spent a bit lately but I've just had a little bonus from work and I've invested it wisely ;o)

Goodie List......
Stamps: 'Miss Anya' by The Greeting Farm - Available from Dies to Die For.
Paper: 'Persimmon' by Zoe Pearn from Sweet Shoppe Designs.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copics.
Tools & Embellishments: Nestabilities and Dew Drops.

Right, I'm off to cook some dinner and to finish off another Miss Anya card I started earlier today. How long do you think it will take before I get sick of them?! NEVER!!!

P.S. Make sure you visit the Dies to Die For Blog as Tracy is running a series of competitions over the next couple of weeks. You could win some luverly stash! I also happen to know that Tracy has some very exciting things due to arrive this week.... But, if I told you what they were, I'm afraid I'd have to kill you..... ;o)

Yuk, a 'boy' card....

OK, I admit it. I have a 'thing' about boys/mens cards. I really struggle for ideas and do not enjoy making them at all. So, when my colleague at work asked me to make 3 cards for her, I held my breath, hoping they were for girlies....... but no, 2 out of 3 are for fellas. Argh! Well, this is the first one and I have to say did manage to put it together relatively painlessly using 'Alfie', one of Sally-Ann's downloads from her fab new store.

Goodie List........
Digi Stamps: 'Alfie with Football' from Digi Stamp Boutique, computer sentiment.
Paper: Basic Grey - Granola.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copics.
Embellishments: Nestabilities 'Labels 1', buttons and embroidery thread from stash.

Before I go, I just wanted to let you know that Tracy at Dies to Die For has now got the new Penny Black in stock. Some are clear sets, some are wood mounted, ALL are gorgeous! Hop over now and take a look.... go on, you know you want to!

Have a brilliant weekend my lovelies!

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #66

Well, I'm pleased to report that the Wii Fit is going pretty well. I'm getting used to the exercises now so I'm not aching quite so much! I've also managed to get my Wii Fit age down to 30 so I am nearly there! Shame I'm not getting any skinnier though....!

Right! On to my card. This one was made using another of the gorgeous Pink Cat Studio QT Hooty Owl stamps from Dies to Die For. I am literally in love with this set so get used to seeing the images pop up from time to time! Same for these delish Zoe Pearn papers!

I used the sketch from Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #66 and rotated it anti-clockwise by 90 degrees. I had a little trouble getting 3 embellies to balance up (as in the sketch) and so combined the 3 elements into 1 handmade distressed circle flower thing - hope that's allowed!

Goodie List........
Stamps:
QT Hooty Owls by Pink Cat Studio - Available from Dies to Die For.
Digital Paper: Zoe Pearn 'Tutti Frutti' - Sweet Shoppe Designs.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copics.
Embellishments: Handmade flower and button from stash.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Cute Card Thursday #58

Oh, I SO love Bank Holiday weekends and this one has been no exception. As you know, I had the house to myself yesterday and so spent the day crafting and singing along (badly) to CD's that I haven't listened to in years. Isn't it amazing how you always remember the words once the music starts?! Thats always amazed me....! I also got the chance to play with a few new toys that I have 'acquired' over the last couple of days. Probably the main new toy is my shiny new Wii Fit board! I've wanted one for ages and luckily had £23 of Amazon vouchers which knocked the price down to £45. Bargain. As I'm not the best at getting motivated for exercise (ahem), I thought this might help. Well, I'm now on day 3 and it's going well! I ache all over but have managed 1.5 hours each day - check me out!

I've also purchased a few new crafty bits this week too, namely PAPERS and LOTS of them. I think I need to face up to the fact that I am totally addicted to pretty papers! I bought some new Daisy Bucket papers last weekend and also managed to pick up a few faves from my wish list yesterday from Sweet Shoppe Designs at 30% off! Zoe Pearn, you are a legend - I salute you!

Right, enough waffle. Onto some cardage! I made this card and then realised that as it was a little bit shiny, it was eligible for this weeks CCT challenge - Mirror Mirror!

I am LOVING this image! I received it yesterday in an enormous parcel from my wonderful friend Hege. Hege won my Blog Candy a month or so ago. She said she wanted to send me something to say thank you so I sent her my address. I was expecting a card but wasn't prepared for the veritable heap of stuff that landed on my doormat! There was this beautiful card, a huge pile of stamped images, some ribbon, fab papers, big flowers, buttons, Stickles.... yep, the list goes on! I was totally spoilt! Thank you so much Hege, you are a sweetheart! ~♥~

Goodie List........
Stamps: 'Reflective' by Sugar Nellie, Sentiment from freebie Papermania set.
Digital Paper: 'Positively' by Sara Amarie - Sweet Shoppe Designs.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black & Rich Cocoa), Copic Markers & white gel pen.
Embellishments: Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug Folder, Nestabilities, charm from Vicki, ribbon and brads from stash.

Blimey, I've waffled today haven't I?!
Enjoy the sunshine!

Super Clean and Simple!

I'm pleased to report that things are starting to get back to some kind of normality. Even though things are still really busy, especially at work, I'm managing to find a little bit more time for myself at home which is making me feel a little more human again! Thank you so much for all of your good wishes, I really appreciate you guys!

A couple of weeks ago, the lovely Michelle sent me a Copic Spica pen to play with. Along with my fab pen, she sent me this gorgeous little notelet. Now, I loved this little notelet so much that when Tracy sent me the QT Hooty Owl set from The Pink Cat Studio in my recent DTDF DT package, I knew that I wanted to CASE Michelle's fab work... hope you don't mind Michelle!

Now, I know these little cards are super simple but I am really pleased with how they turned out. I've always loved this set as the images are super cute and there is virtually an image and sentiment for every occasion, making them perfect for these 10x10cm square notelets.

Goodie List........
Stamps: Pink Cat Studio - QT Hooty Owls - Available from Dies to Die For, "Happy Birthday sentiment by Elzybells.
Paper: Core'dinations Elements Cardstock.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copic markers, Copic Spica Glitter Pen.

I really hope that you have a great BH weekend planned. Lets just hope we get lots of lovely sunshine to play in!
