Fairy Dust is a Must

Hello lovelies! Don't panic, I've not gone AWOL again! As I work full time, I tend to do most of my crafting at the weekend when I am off work. Well, last weekend I got nothing done as I was in London playing on Saturday, and feeling rough as hell on Sunday because I had a cracking headache. All of this equals no crafting and no cards for me.

I have since managed to make this sweet little card though...

These stamps come as a set and are slightly smaller than TGF's standard stamps. The beauty of this is that you can fit multiple images on your card! It's great as you can get loads of different looks, all from one set. I'm not sure if you can see from this picture, but I used Glossy Accents on the wings and mounted everything on glittery white card - essential for that fairy dust feel! I also did something I hardly ever do... I mixed papers from 3 totally different paper collections. I normally get scared about doing this, so very glad I faced my fears!

Challenges
Paper Sundaes - Lets Get Cute.
Crafty Cardmakers - Fantasy.
Crafty Creations - That's What Little Girls are Made of.
My Mums Craft Shop - The Great Outdoors.
DYSU? - CASE the DT (I was inspired by Mary Jo's clouds).

Best Dad Ever

OK, I know you are going to be stunned, but I've made my Dad's Father Day card already! Well, he made such a song and dance about getting a shop bought birthday card in January, that I didn't want to risk something happening and me having to buy a shop bought Father Day card as well! If I can get a better pic once the sun finally comes out, I will....

I lurve this MFT 'First Place Award' set. It is so useful, you can basically use it for any occasion and any person. I was also thinking it would be fun to use it on it's own to make some rosettes. Think I am going to make some funny ones for my team at work..... Watch this space!

Make sure you stop by the DTDF store to pick up these fab goodies. I've even made it nice and easy for you and put the links below so that they are just a click away :o)
Hurray - it's Friday! Have a good one,

Redonkulous - DT Day!

Two posts in one day... almost unheard of for me! Well, I'm back with my second Redonkulous card! I can't tell you how much I love these images, they are just so lovely to colour.

I got in such a tiz with this card...! It actually started off life on a square scalloped white base. Then I couldn't get the papers to balance out. So I moved it to a rectangular base. Then I thought it wasn't jazzy enough. Then I added the butterfly arch. Now I'm really pleased with it!

Really hope that you like my card. Make sure you stop by my teamies blogs (Shell and Debs) to check out their beautiful creations ☺

DTDF Challenge #3

Hi everyone! Part of being on the DTDF Design Team means that I get to contribute to the Die-ing For a Challenge ☺. This month, we have a fantastic sketch for you to try, created by our lovely 'Queen of CAS', Michelle.

Now, you know me, I love my layers.... Keeping things simple really came hard to me! This is such a cute image though, I think she is definately cute enough to pull it off ☺. All of the bits and bobs on this card are available from DTDF and you can check them out in the linkies below. I love that Echo Park are now doing both bold and bright papers and more subtle designs. Definately something for everyone ♥.

The ever-so-lovely Tracy is giving the winner a £25 voucher to spend at DTDF. I know, amazing, right?! So what are you waiting for? Get sketchy with us!

I Love Dies to Die For!

Hi everyone! I have some news that I'm really excited to share with you.... I'm back on the Dies to Die For DT! As you know, I was on the team for a couple of years before my little blogging break. However, I had to step down because I was not posting and it was not fair to Tracy. However, because I'm back and because she's lovely, the gorgeous Tracy has invited me back. Of course I grabbed at the opportunity with both hands ;o)

To kick things off, Tracy sent me an ENORMOUS pile of stash. And I do mean ENORMOUS. I literally have pretty papers coming out of my ears... I'm in heaven! Here is a little something I knocked up for my friends birthday yesterday.

I am so chuffed with how this turned out. I was worried about combining such a large sentiment with this image but I actually think it works pretty well. And as for these Cosmo Cricket papers. Yum. That's all I'm going to say about them!

Old But New :o)

Morning all! Hope you are all well. I've been having a lovely time playing in my craft room during my week off. I'm just sad that I only have a few days left until I have to go back to work. Boo hiss. Anyhow, here is a little card for you...

I know, you need your sunglasses for this one, right?! Well, you know me - I love bright and cheerful. I'm also pleased that I used this old LOTV stamp for the very first time on this card. She's such a cutie, I can't believe she's remained ink free for 18 months. Naughty Stacey.

Simon Says Stamp - April Showers Bring Spring Flowers.
Crafty Creations - Flower Power.
Cute Card Thursday - Spring Flowers

Oh dear...!

OK, so you've probably realised that day 5 and 6 are missing from my blog...! Annoyingly, whilst I have cards made and ready to share with you, the flaming computer broke and I couldn't get anything on or off of it. Grr. Anyway, Ali has decided we probably need a brand new one as all of the individual components have gone pop, which is a bit of a pain really. So, I've now switched back to the laptop and have found a photo editor thing which I'm finally happy with. It's nowhere near Photoshop, but it'll do me alright for now :o)

I pulled out one of my old digis from Spesch. I seriously love these digi images and they are so much fun to colour. Coupled with my lovely October Afternoon papers, I'm happy with this combo :o)

Challenges
DYSU - Friendly Critters.
Stampin for the Weekend - Ready Teddy Go.
Sweet Stampin - Dies and Doodles.
Paper Sundaes - Kraft and Dies.
Creative Card Crew - Kraft.

After my little blip, hopefully I will be back tomorrow!

Day 4 of 11...

I made it to day 4 without missing a post! Woo-hoo me! Thanks to those of you who are still with me... ;o) I'm having a lovely break so far, very relaxing. Just wish the weather would perk up a bit as it is miserable at the moment. This is probably what inspired this card though... I'm craving hot, hot, HOT!

Still addicted to these Kraft blanks. Think I might sneak back to The Range this week to see if I can pick up some more in different sizes. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be buying card blanks...!

Challenges:
Stamp with Fun - Not an Easter Card.
Papertake - Anything Goes.

Anyway, happy Easter one and all. Hope the bunny bought you lots of chocolate! ~x~

Day 3 of 11...

Crikey, I missed my Copics....! I think I can safely say that they are the medium that I much prefer working with and I had great fun using them on this image.

Compared to yesterdays Saturated Canary card, I am much happier with my colouring on this card. I also fished out my old Whispers pens and used the really fine nib to add definition and depth to the colouring. I think it worked really well and I'll definitely be using this technique again. I like that I'm using otherwise discarded stash too!

Hope you are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend,

Day 2 of 11...

Hi all! Well, today I'm back with something a bit unusual for me. It all started when I lent my friend my Prisma pencils to play with. She loved them and recently gave them back to me, with plans of purchasing her very own set. Being the untidy wretch that I am, they got added to the pile on the end of my craft desk. Well, yesterday, I tidied that very desk and got to thinking... how long ago was it that I last played with my Prismas? After a bit of pondering, I decided it must have been about 3 years ago. Yikes. That level of neglect is really naughty, especially as they weren't exactly what you'd call 'cheap'! So, I thought I'd whip them out and have a go.

So there you go. Not a Copic marker in sight! Am I pleased with my effort? Yes and no....

No - Because my colouring looks really amateurish and I am far too heavy handed to achieve that amazing fade-in-fade-out effect that so many of you have so beautifully perfected.

Yes - Because I actually stepped out of my comfort zone, played with some forgotten stash and wasn't thoroughly appalled by the effort. However, maybe that was more down to the cute image and fab papers and lovely embellies....!

Anyway, whilst I can promise that I won't be hanging up my Copics any time soon, it's nice to know I still have options!

Day 1 of 11....

Woo-hoo! My Easter holiday is finally here! 11 days off and my aim is to post a card each day..... I know, ambitious for a blog slacker like me, right?! Anyway, I'm starting as I mean to go on.....

I am totally addicted to the new Doodlebug 6x6 pads. I seriously can't get enough of these bad boys! I literally have DP coming out of my ears, but I just cannot resist a pretty bit of paper. Or even better... four!

Another crafty discovery this week are the Papermania Kraft card blanks. I normally avoid shop bought blanks like the plague as I generally find that they are either really expensive or appallingly bad quality. However, I noticed these whilst I was in The Range today and, as I'm addicted to Kraft, thought I'd give them a go. I'm really glad I did as they seem reasonably good quality and were a complete bargain. Will be returning soon to stock up.

Challenges...
Allsorts - Photo Inspiration (I picked out the pastel colours and the Easter/spring theme).
One Stop Crafts - Easter (Easter bunny!).
Paper Sundaes - Easter.
Crafty Creations - Signs of Spring.
My Mum's Craft Shop - Easter Creations/Animals.
DYSU? - Friendly Critters.
Hope all well with you guys. I'm off back into my craft den now as I'm home alone and experimenting with Glossy Accents...!

My First Ever Redonkulous DT Card!

Hi all, I'm a bit excited today.... it's time for my first Redonkulous DT post! I was sent some lovely images to play with and decided to go with the digi called "Welcome Home Soldier". This image comes in three varieties - Canadian, US and UK. I have used the UK version because I'm obviously British! I've kept the rest of the layout pretty simple so that I could show off the fantastic image as much as possible.

As you can see, whilst this image is called "Welcome Home Soldier", I've actually used it more as a card which could be sent to a serviceman currently away from home or serving overseas.

Challenges:
Stamp with Fun - Not an Easter Card.
Simon Says Stamp - Favourite Tool (Dies! I used my Nesties for the sentiment)

Thanks for stopping by today. Make sure you visit the Redonkulous blog to check out the fab creations of my lovely teamies :o)
