Just Stamp with Fun!

Well, that 4 days off sure went quickly..... Good job I only have a 3 day week this week isn't it?! Got to use up that holiday somehow haven't I?! I did spend my time off wisely though with a nice amount of crafting and craft shopping! Also managed to combine 2 challenges.... the sketch from Stamp with Fun and also the theme of 'Ribbons & Bows' from Just Magnolia.

I have a bit of a confession to make. As much as I love my Magnolia stamps, I only actually own 2 of the older style ones which I bought ages ago! I know, shocking huh?! I have a tiny stack of precious images that friends have stamped for me and am rationing myself to them! I think I had better invest in some really, it seems rude not to doesn't it?!

Anyone for Anya? It's a Dawny P Sketch!

Hello my lovelies! I'm posting 3 days on the trot - can you believe it?! I know! I've shocked myself, let me tell you ;o) . Anyway, I'll get straight down to business.... it's Sunday, which means it is time for Anyone for Anya? challenge 2! And what a treat we have for you this week as Dawny P has done one of her famous sketches! Woo-hoo!

Seriously bright and colourful eh? I adore these papers but you do need to wear sunglasses when you use them unfortunately. It wasn't quite as pretty as my team mates cards but I was proud that I managed to stick to Dawny's sketch! It's very rare that I don't cheat slightly......!

Papertake Weekly - Sketch #22

Isn't this image just adorable?! It is by the awesomely talented Mo. If you haven't visited Mo's Digital Pencil yet, you really need to ASAP. You will be blown away by the gorgeousness of her work. So varied too, definately something for everyones taste. Not sure I have done her masterpiece justice with my patchy colouring though....!

Whimsy Challenge 16 - A Touch of Sparkle

Well, I started the Bank Holiday weekend off in style with another day off! Despite being insanely busy at work at the moment, I have over a weeks holiday to take by the end of September, so I can foresee some more nice L-O-N-G weekends coming up! So how did I spend my day? In my very favourite way..... choons on, craft stuff out! It also gave me an opportunity to dive into my Whimsy DT stamp pile and play along with the Whimsy Stamps Challenge.......

As some of you might know, I have a bit of a giraffe obsession so I am so pleased that this little fella finally got inky! The challenge was to add a touch of sparkle.... well, I think this effort should count as I added 6 lots of sparkle!

Copic Colour Challenge 28

I'm officially back in to my card making! Woo-hoo! So glad it didn't take too long. Luckily, my creative juices got flowing just in time for the Copic Colour Challenge! This week, I chose the colours - BG24, E47, R85. Now, these are colours I use all the time so I was quite happy using them. Just hope everyone else is!

Even though it may not look particularly spectacular, I'm a bit proud of this card actually.... As I've mentioned before, I sometimes really struggle pairing papers and totally envy people who can put all sorts of paper combo's together and make it look fab. I admit I'm getting better, but I never stray from one series or pad of paper. BUT, on this card...... I managed to combine 3 different BRANDS! Seriously impressed myself I have to say ;o)

Copic Colour Challenge #27

Crikey, week 27 of the Copic Colour Challenge already! Time is seriously flying past huh?! The fab Toodles and Binks are sponsoring us this week and have offered 1 lucky winner 2 stamps from their range, plus some embossing powder and Zoomz!

You can't tell from this shoddy picture but I actually puffed Tilda up a little bit with some silicone glue. She's very curvy and 3D in real life but it's virtually impossible to convey that with a picture isn't it?!

Great News & Getting There....!

Thank you so so much for all of the get well soon wishes you have sent me over the last week or so, you've really brightened my days. Thankfully the actual flu went in 2 or 3 days, but unfortunately, I have been suffering severe throat pain. The doctor looked at it this morning, a week after it all started, and told me that it looked like 'chopped liver'! Charming huh?! Anyway, although I'm still nowhere near fit, I went back to work today as I was climbing the walls at home!

I did however receive some very good news yesterday which perked me up no end...... I made the Anyone for Anya DT! I was seriously surprised as I applied ages ago, before I knew about my Whimsy position. But I'm so happy to be chosen and totally honoured to be working alongside such a lovely and talent group of ladies. I hope you can all join us next Sunday for our very first challenge :o)

I was also given this super sweet award by my lovely friend Vicky. Thank you sweetie! It's so hard to know who to pass this on to but I am going to go for...... Sheila, Shell, Beth and Sarah.

Thats it from me I'm afraid. I'm hoping to get back crafting ASAP but unfortunately, my mojo seems to have disappeared along with the piggy tail! Take care one and all ~x~

Copic Colour Challenge 26

Another very quick post from me I'm afraid, as I am laid up in bed with the dreaded Swine Flu. I'm a full blown piggy at the moment but I'm *hoping* I'm over the worst of it and that the curly tail will disappear soon, along with the strange oinking sounds.

In the end, it was lucky I messed up and made my Copic Colour Challenge card last week really wasn't it?

Stamp Something - Charms

Just a super quick post before work from me..... had hoped to get up early to do this but I've been up half the night with a horrendous sore throat which has also given me chronic neck pain - just what you need the night before you have to go back to work after 2 weeks off! Argh!

I struggled all day yesterday to make just one card as the mojo had legged it out of the window. Luckily, it came good in the end though and I was able to put this creation together for this weeks Stamp Something challenge, which is to use charms.

My First Whimsy Card!

Oh, I just cannot believe that those 2 long weeks of holiday that I have been dreaming of for so long are almost up - back to work on Monday for me. I thought I was going to get masses of crafting done whilst I was off but no such luck. We've done a huge amount around the house though and got rid of lots of stuff, so it's not all bad. Just wish I had another week off.....!

Although, I am a very happy bunny still as my Whimsy DT kit arrived! Whoo-hoo! Denise posted it Monday from the US and it arrived in Southampton on Friday! How is that for service?! I was totally blown away by the quality of my new stampies too. For those of you who don't own any Whimsy stamps, each one is pre-mounted on super thick ez-mount stuff, and they each come in their own little resealable bag, with a lovely printed plastic index card. So practical for storage - I love them. Of course, I just HAD to get them inked up right away.....!

Isn't this little fella adorable?! Look at those gorgeous little lips, wish I had a pout like that! ;o)

Copic Colour Challenge #25

Oh, what a palaver I have had this morning.....! I was super organised this week and made my DT card for Copic Colour Challenge at the weekend. It was all made, photographed, enhanced, watermarked and completely ready to go. Safe in this knowledge, I sat down this morning to write-up this weeks CCC blog entry and had a bit of a surprise.... my fellow DT-ers cards all looked drastically different to mine. A little confused, I logged in to our little 'behind the scenes' forum, and quickly realised that I had in fact been a little over eager and had used the colours for NEXT week, THIS week! Doh! What then followed was a bit of frantic card making, just with the RIGHT colours this time! Oh well, at least I am now a week ahead of myself ;o)

It doesn't show up very well, but you might notice that I inked up the corners of my image, whilst it was still in the Nestie. It's a technique that I've been meaning to try for ages and one which I've seen on quite a few of my fave US blogs. It is also my attempt at trying to convince myself that I don't technically need a Copic airbrush system.....! Needless to say it looks better in real life but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

The Sugar Bowl - Challenge 16

If you are like me, sometimes you make a card that you struggled with, but that you are really proud of. Well, this is one of those cards. You see, I've always had difficulty putting lots of different pattern papers together (even from the same collection) and have always fretted that it was too much, or that the design looked overloaded. However, for this one, I literally forced myself to get on with it, and I'm so pleased I did as I love the result! :o)

I followed the sketch for this weeks challenge over on The Sugar Bowl. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any doodling in, not because it scares me (!), but because it didn't really fit the style of my card. Hope my entry still counts!

4 Challenges in 1 Card & Exciting News!

Can you believe it?! I managed to squeeze 4 challenges in to just 1 VERY bright card! It's a bit of a first for me and I am feeling rather pleased with myself! Not a huge fan of the card but pleased with the 'challengeability' of it! The 4 challenges and the requirements are:

I have had these Making Memories papers for ages but have barely used them as they are so bright! I've always thought they were too busy to put together too but yesterday I was feeling brave and just decided to go for it!

So, as the title of this post indicates, I have some VERY exciting news to share with you. A little while ago, I tentatively entered in to the Whimsy Stamps DT call. I say tentatively as I kinda knew I wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting picked. Well, lets just say, I clearly know nothing as Denise has asked me to join the Whimsy team!

It actually took me a while to reply to Denise's email as I spent quite some time leaping round the house in celebration! I am so grateful to get the chance to work with such a talented DT and can't wait for my first stamps to arrive so that I can start crafting up a storm! :o)
