Dies to Die For DT Day

Hi all! Well, here I am, a day late for my DT day... a big thanks to Pops for covering for me! Picture the scene..... My card was all made and ready for sharing.....I made myself late for work because I was taking some last minute pictures of it.....I get to work, load up my photo-editor..... reach for my camera..... only to realise I'd left the lead at home! ARGH! Anyway, here I am, a day late, but better late than never, right?!

I really enjoyed making this card. Initially I messed up my colouring on the body. As I'd already coloured her head, I chopped it off (I know, I felt barbaric too!) and stuck it on the body of another Miss Anya in the set. Hey presto, you can't tell the difference :o)

Not only was it a joy to play with Miss Anya again, I got to stroke some American Crafts papers. Did you know that American Craft now do 6x6 pads?! Well they do and Tracy's got 'em - just follow the linkies below. There is only one work for them.... delish.

I have a few challenges that I'd like to enter this card into:

Art Impressions - Photo Inspiration
Digi Doodle - Anything Goes
The Stamp Man - Anything Goes/Summer Colours
Our Craft Lounge - Sunny Days

Anyway, enjoy the sunshine that we've been promised! It's still a bit murky here in Southampton, but there are signs of hope peaking through :o)

Anyone for Anya? It's a Dawny P Sketch!

Hello my lovelies! I'm posting 3 days on the trot - can you believe it?! I know! I've shocked myself, let me tell you ;o) . Anyway, I'll get straight down to business.... it's Sunday, which means it is time for Anyone for Anya? challenge 2! And what a treat we have for you this week as Dawny P has done one of her famous sketches! Woo-hoo!

Seriously bright and colourful eh? I adore these papers but you do need to wear sunglasses when you use them unfortunately. It wasn't quite as pretty as my team mates cards but I was proud that I managed to stick to Dawny's sketch! It's very rare that I don't cheat slightly......!

Goodie List........
Stamps: 'Angel Anya' by TGF, in stock at Dies to Die For.
Sentiment: Papermakeup Stamps.
Paper: 'Everyday' by American Crafts.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) & Copic markers.
Embellishments: Ribbon, button and embroidery thread from stash.

Hope you are able to join in with us over at the Anyone for Anya? challenge blog this week!

Olivia's Birdies

Yep, 2nd post of the day and I've actually got a card to share with you too! I made this one a week ago but have been galavanting so much this week that I haven't had a chance to share it with you until today. I'm afraid I am still completely hooked on this American Crafts paper, think I had better buy some more before it runs out.....!

I used the totally gorgeous "Olivia's Birdies" set from Dies to Die For for this card. It's the first time I have tried this grass effect and I have to admit, I'm fairly pleased with it - expect to see it pop up again on a card near you sometime soon!

Goodie List........
Stamps: Olivia's Birdies by CC Designs, from Dies to Die For.
Paper: American Crafts 'Everyday', Bazzill Smoothies CS.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copic markers.
Tools & Embellishments: Ribbon coloured with Copics, Nestabilities.

Right, I'm off to play with my new stash! Enjoy what is left of the weekend!

Copic Colour Challenge #20

Morning all. Just peered outside the window and we have........ SUNSHINE! Now, this may sound obvious to some, but yesterday, whilst you were all basking/melting, we had rain and the greyist skies you have ever seen. I felt cheated and robbed! Things are looking up today though, maybe it won't rain on my birthday tomorrow after all!

Right, down to business. Time to share my DT card for this weeks Copic Colour Challenge. I actually made this card quite by accident. Well, I obviously meant to make it, however it was only once I had finished that I realised I had used all of the colours for this weeks challenge! How clever am I?! Wish every week was this easy :o) We've also got a fab sponsor this week, a nice shiny new stamp company - Squiggle Stamps. If you are a Copics user, make sure you enter this week, as you will love the prize they have offered!

I am totally in love with these American Crafts papers. I wanted them for ages but always put off buying them as I was worried that I'd find the bold patterns really tricky to work with. Boy was I wrong! Hoping to find some more at Newbury this weekend.

Goodie List........
Stamps: 'Hoo Hoo Time' by Rachelle Anne Miller from Dies to Die For.
Paper: American Crafts 'Everyday', Core'dinations CS.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copic markers.
Embellishments: Ribbon, embroidery thread and button from stash.

Right, I'm off to get ready for my last day of being 27! It's all downhill from midnight I guess....!
Enjoy the sunshine!

New toys to play with....!

You may be forgiven for thinking that I have totally dropped off a cliff. Well, I can confirm that I am still alive and kicking and have in fact managed to make 4 whole cards this weekend! I know, I was stunned too! Unfortunately, I am not massively happy with any of them but refuse to put them in the bin so will be sharing them with you in the coming days. My mojo appeared fine and they went together easily enough but I didn't get that "I'm satisfied" feeling at the end of them... very odd!

This was my first card of the weekend and I actually think it is the one I like the least, which I find weird as I love all of the individual elements! I've been after some Kraft CS and this American Crafts DP for ages and so was pleased to finally get my hands on some to have a play. It was also an opportunity to ink up this super cute Gorjuss girlie from set 2, a recent 'shared' purchase with my pal Sheila. In my head, this card wasn't going to look like this, it just didn't translate brilliantly!

Goodie List........
Stamps: Sugar Nellie - Gorjuss Set 2.
Paper: American Crafts 'Everyday', Bazzill Kraft CS, Core'dinations CS.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copic markers.
Embellishments: Card Candy, crochet flower and ribbon from stash.

Hope you have all had a great weekend and aren't missing those blisteringly hot days too much!

Saturday Challenge #24

Here is another card I made at the weekend with the lovely DT stash that I received from Tracy at Dies to Die For. This image is taken from the CC Designs 'Sweet Treats' set which you can find here. Once again, great value as you get a coordinating set of 7 stamps which all get presented in a cute metal little tin - a 'sweet treat' indeed!

As I love this fab colour combo so much, I've decided to make this my entry into this weeks Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge as the theme is 'Favourite Colour'. You can't beat a bit of pink and brown but I think the minty turquoise adds a great highlight.

I'm really chuffed with the little ice cream cone by the way. It looks great in real life as it is all swingy and lovely and adds a bit of movement to an otherwise pretty simple card.

Goodie List........
Stamps: CC Designs 'Sweet Treats' available from Dies to Die For
Paper: American Crafts - The Goods (Baby Girl), Core'dinations CS.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copics.
Embellishments: Eyelet and ribbon from stash.

Just a reminder that my blog candy closes on Thursday. I've had a great response already - thank you all so much!

Ahh... Take a Deep Breath

I really feel I should take the advice of the sentiment on this next card..... what a week?! Things have been a bit manic at work as I had a tricky deadline so I've been staring at spreadsheets for 7 hours a day. I've been a bit pooped by the time I've got home so subsequently, not much crafting going on unfortunately. However, I did manage this one using the MFT stamps Ali got me for Christmas.......

During a quick trip into Hobbycraft last Sunday, I spotted these gorgeous American Crafts papers in the sale and somehow they 'fell' into my basket.... Then, I turned the corner and came face to face with the punches. I stared at the display longingly, hoping a Martha Stewart punch (or 7!) would appear. Unfortunately, no such punch was in sight. However, I did find the one I used on this card. OK, it's no MS masterpiece. BUT, it was a whole lot cheaper....... £2.99! What a blinkin' bargain?!

Goodie List......
Stamps: My Favorite Things - Serenity Now.
Paper: American Crafts - The Goods 'Baby Girl'.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copics.
Embellishments: Hobbycraft border punch, Prima flowers, Cuttlebug Oval Die, Poppicrafts ribbon, bead spacers from ebay.

I'm a bit excited as I'm going to my first ever Stampin' Up party on Monday night. Mmm, just think of all those lovely goodies.... I've got a wish list already and that's before I'm surrounded by temptation! My invitation says I can bring a friend so if you live anywhere near Southampton and fancy being my +1, just let me know!

Right, best be off! Gotta make Ali's valentines card tonight. Nothing like cutting it fine eh?!
