DTDF DT Day - Girls Rock!

Hello lovely people! How are you enjoying the Olympics?! I've been lucky enough to go to quite a few events and I have to say, it has been awesome! However, if you missed out on getting tickets to any of the events, you will still be able to get involved as Tracy has some great Olympic offers... check out the Dies to Die For store for more details. Be quick though, today is the last day to snap these great deals up!

I have a very bright and cheerful card to share with you today. These just have to be one of my all time favourite papers - so bold and sunny.

Hope you like it! Whilst this particular Creeper Crew member doesn't appear to be in the shop at the moment, if you click on the link below, you will be able to find lots of others Creepers in stock... with 20% off!

Dies to Die For DT Day

Hi all! Well, here I am, a day late for my DT day... a big thanks to Pops for covering for me! Picture the scene..... My card was all made and ready for sharing.....I made myself late for work because I was taking some last minute pictures of it.....I get to work, load up my photo-editor..... reach for my camera..... only to realise I'd left the lead at home! ARGH! Anyway, here I am, a day late, but better late than never, right?!

I really enjoyed making this card. Initially I messed up my colouring on the body. As I'd already coloured her head, I chopped it off (I know, I felt barbaric too!) and stuck it on the body of another Miss Anya in the set. Hey presto, you can't tell the difference :o)

Not only was it a joy to play with Miss Anya again, I got to stroke some American Crafts papers. Did you know that American Craft now do 6x6 pads?! Well they do and Tracy's got 'em - just follow the linkies below. There is only one work for them.... delish.

I have a few challenges that I'd like to enter this card into:

Art Impressions - Photo Inspiration
Digi Doodle - Anything Goes
The Stamp Man - Anything Goes/Summer Colours
Our Craft Lounge - Sunny Days

Anyway, enjoy the sunshine that we've been promised! It's still a bit murky here in Southampton, but there are signs of hope peaking through :o)

Die-ing for a Challenge #6

Gee... the middle of July! Where on earth are the weeks going?! One good thing about the middle of the month, however, is that we get a shiny new challenge over at Die-ing for a Challenge! This time around we have a fab sketch for you created by our lovely Hazel.
It's a bit of a classic, so there will be no excuse for all you CAS lovers not to have a go at this one! Anyway, want to see why I did with it? I have to admit, it is not one of my favourite cards, but I'm going to show it anyway as I believe that my blog should be a place where I share all of my crafting adventures... good and bad! So here we go....

Don't get me wrong, I love the CC Designs image, the pretty Echo Park papers and my beloved Die-Namic stars... I just can't quite get it all to work together! Oh well, you win some, you lose some! :o)

I really hope that you are able to join in our challenge. You have a month to hop on over to the Dies to Die For blog to get stuck in!

Dream BIG!

Hello lovely crafty friends! The sun is finally shining! As the rain cycle appears to be broken, we are firing up that BBQ tonight that caused all of the problems in the first place! It might still be a little chilly, but hey... we're British. We'll put a jumper on!

Just stopping by today to share a Dies to Die For card that I posted on the DTDF Blog yesterday. I love this little dragon fella and really like the fact that Magnolia do branch out further than the human characters.

The image has been teamed with some mega funky papers from the Bazzill Dino-Mite collection... Dragons/Dinosaurs.... they're nearly the same thing, right?! I could have layered these papers up more but

a) I wanted to show off the image, and
b) the papers are yummy and I was to make them last longer!!!

Challenges
My Mums Craft Shop - Fairytales.
Allsorts Challenge - Man or Boy.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 33

So, how are you all? Not too iced up and freezing I hope! I haven't been crafting much the last couple of nights as the house has been blinkin' freezing and I have spent my time huddled under a blanket on the sofa! But, last night was a little warmer so I had a go at this weeks A Spoon Full of Sugar challange which features a sketch by one of my favourite blogging buddies, Nikki.

I started off by layering some brown Bazzill card onto my square card blank. I then took some funky orange paper from the gorgeous Basic Grey Offbeat series and inked the edges with brown ink. I'm pleased to report that I am having far greater inking success since I decided to sponge the ink on rather than attack the item directly with my ink pad! The fabby image is from The Greetings Farm (formerly known as Pink Poison) and is one of their new digital stamps. I coloured Anya with a mixture of Promarkers and Copics, cut her out and added her to a panel of white card with 3D pads (not that you can see it from this pic!). I coloured some flowers with Promarkers and added twill-tied buttons to their centres. I finished the whole thing off with a MFT sentiment and some fab ribbon which came off the box of a Caffitiere that I got for Christmas!

Hope you like my offering, I might try to get a better picture tonight when I get in from work! Thanks for a great sketch Nikki!

Cutie Rudie!

Although I have plenty more of the CC angel cards to share with you, I decided to give you a little bit of a break for the time being. Instead, here is an image from the PC Crafter set "Santa's Helpers".

Firstly, I distressed some My Minds Eye paper with a metal ruler, faux stitched around the edges and mounted on to a brown side-fold rectangular card blank. As I mentionned before, the image is from the PC Crafter "Santa's Helpers" set. I've coloured Rudolph with my Promarkers and layered him onto a scalloped Nestie rectangle. I punched 2 holes either side of the image and threaded through some ribbon, highlighting with adhesive gems. I then mounted the whole panel onto the card blank using 3D foam pads. I'm really pleased with the whole thing.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend! I'm feeling slightly smug as mine is a slightly longer one as Ali and I are off for an overnight jolly to Bath tomorrow!

See, I told you that I love these images.....!

Yep, as promised, here is yet another Christmas card that I have made with my fab CC Designs angels. But aren't they adorable?!

This one was pretty simple....as are most of my cards! I took some gorgeous My Minds Eye Christmas papers, inked the edges and layered them onto coordinating Bazzill Smoothie cardstock. I studded the corners with silver brads and added a strip of stripy MME paper across the centre of the card. The central CC Designs image is mounted onto a Nestie circle and coloured with Promarkers. I finished my little cutie off with a touch of Stickles on her wings and halo.

Do you know what? There are yet more of these angels to come.....I just love them so much!

I've got 2 awards in the last couple of days from Sandra, Beth & Sally-Ann - thanks ladies!
Sandra and Beth passed on this little beauty....
"This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind blogger's aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight blogger's who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

I think my 8 lucky ladies are going to be...

Beth & Sandra (I know they gave it to me but I still feel this sentiment applies to them!), Sally-Ann, Dawn, Vicky, Nikki, Amy and Terrie. The reason that I have chosen these ladies is because, no matter how ropey a card I post, this lovely lot are always the first to "ooh and aah" and leave gorgeous little comments. Thank you so much, I appreciate you more than you know!

The second award came from Sally-Ann......

"Pick 5 bloggers that you consider as your best blogging buddies and deserve this award for their contribution towards the blogging community, no matter what language.State the name of the author of each blog as well as a link to each one's blogs. Each blogger (upon acceptance) of this award should do a post and show the award on their blog and put the name and link to the blog that has given her/him the award."

Umm, who shall I go for this time..... Well, I actually think all of the people I named for the Proximity award also deserve this award so consider yourselves awarded twice you lot!

I'm Getting Addicted to CC Angels.....

Blimey it's cold....brrr! It has {finally} got me in the mood to make Christmas cards though! I've made quite a few over the last couple of days which I will gradually upload throughout the week. Don't want to bombard you do I?!

I made this card using my gorgeous My Minds Eye papers. I have virtually the whole set of these and I love this one in particular as my Mum used to read me this poem every single Christmas Eve when I was little. The image is from the CC Designs 'Angel' download which I am utterly in love with. All I can say is, you will be seeing these designs ALOT over the coming days ;o) Anyway, I coloured my little angel with ProMarkers and Stickles and mounted her onto a couple of Nestie circles. As always, I finished my card with ribbon and adhesive gems.

Thanks for all your kind wishes re: the Flutterby design team - what lovely peeps you are?!

Am I a Scrap Addict? - Sketch 3

Well, after my hols, I've had no choice but to get right back into it. Why?! Well, I had my 3rd Am I a Scrap Addict DT card to make didn't I?!

I found this weeks sketch a little tricky so I rotated it 90 degrees and, all of a sudden, it became a lot easier to manage!

I matted Bazzill Bon Bon card onto a square card blank and added a strip of Doodlebug 'All a Flutter' paper, layered on Bazzill Bubblegum cardstock. On top of this, I added an embossed panel of Bazzill Swimming Pool card. The image is Elzybells 'Shopaholic' and is coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Sansodor. The whole card is finished with a Rubber Romance stamped sentiment, ribbon and some adhesive gems.

I so loved this Elzybells image that I used her again to make a little image wallet for a RAK I sent to my friend Sheila. The image and sentiment are completely appropriate for Sheila as she really is a complete (self-confessed!) shopaholic!

Thanks for popping by!

Just Checkin' In...!

Hello, me again! I'm still in Corfu but wanted to share this colourful creation with you, just so you don't go forgetting all about me.... sob sob sniff sniff!

I began by layering up Papermania striped paper and chocolate Bazzill onto a square blank, snipping the corners with those funny scissors which are a complete nightmare if, like me, you are left-handed! I coloured one of my new Elzybells with Prismas and Sansodor and matted her onto Bazzill and DCWV cardstock. This panel was then layered onto the cardbase using 3D foam pads. I finished with gems and a Hero Arts sentiment.

I have mixed feelings towards this card - I love the colour scheme and the image but not the corners!

Well, I'm back tomorrow so no doubt the blog addiction will once again take hold and I shall be flying round all of your blogs, leaving millions of comments before you know it!

P.S. This card is my entry into Cammie's incredible candy which is worth over $1000 and is for a very good cause. All you need to do is to make a card for the carer of someone with Alzheimers. I have seen first hand the devastating effects of this illness so was really happy to support this cause. Pin It

A Spoon Full of Sugar Sketch Challenge & Christmas Card #1!

Wow, the 2nd post of the day. You don't get that from me very often! This card was made following the sketch on the A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge blog. It's also a card full of firsts.... it's the first time I've taken part in a 'Spoon Full of Sugar' challenge, it's the first time I've used these papers, it's the first time I've used these stamps and..........it's my first ever Christmas card!

I started by mounting a square of Feather Boa Bazzill Bling on to a square card blank. I then layered up slices of Dovecraft Christmas Blues paper according to the sketch, matting it on to yet more Bazzill (no idea what colour this time though!). I coloured Maggie with Prismacolors and Sansodor and highlighted her star with sparkly Stickles. I tied ribbon around the whole thing and added then mounted the image onto the card with foam pads. The sentiment came courtesy of a £1 clear stamp set and was highlighted with some star shaped gems. As usual, yet more gems finished the card!

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Morning everyone! Hope you are all well.

I've been a a bit disillusioned the last couple of days as I spent 4 whole days trying to make a decent wedding card for my Mum and Dad's friends. Unfortunately, I had a complete mental block which resulted in a lot of frustration and even more wasted craft stash. The harder I tried, the worse my efforts became. Why on earth did I have so much trouble? I have absolutely no idea. After getting very huffy, I rang my mum and told her she would have to do the unthinkable......she'd have to BUY a card. I know. It was awful ;o)

After all of this, my spirits were rallied somewhat when my new Prismacolors arrived! Woohoo! I got a brand new set of 48 for £12.50 from ebay - what a bargain?! Even better, I had super quick delivery too. I ordered last Thursday and they arrived from the States on Tuesday morning. I was very chuffed.

So..... once the arrival of the Prisma's cheered me up, I decided to get back into the swing of things and make a card. To help with the inspiration side of things, I nipped over to Papertake Weekly and was very happy to see they had a fab sketch from Katharina. So, here is my effort!

I used a combination of Bazzill and Papermania cardstock, coupled with my gorgeous new Basic Grey 'Cupcake' paper. The stamp is Elzybells 'Hugs' and is coloured with my lovely new Prismas and Sansodor. I used my new Cuttlebug Embossing folder on the orange panel (thanks Sheila!) and one of my sparkly new Stampin' Up 'Circle of Friendship' stamps which Aimee kindly sent me from the US. I seriously need to invest in a 1 inch circle punch for these little beauties as I am rubbish at cutting circles freehand! I finished the card with a little doodling, some ribbon and adhesive blue gems..... nothing new here then!

P.S. I'd like to say a massive thank you to Nikki for giving me so much help and advice when it came to the Prismacolors, I really appreciate it Nikki! Also, a massive hug is winging it's way to Sheila for sending me some paperstumps AND about a million stamped images! Thank you sooo much! ~x~
