Oh dear...!

OK, so you've probably realised that day 5 and 6 are missing from my blog...! Annoyingly, whilst I have cards made and ready to share with you, the flaming computer broke and I couldn't get anything on or off of it. Grr. Anyway, Ali has decided we probably need a brand new one as all of the individual components have gone pop, which is a bit of a pain really. So, I've now switched back to the laptop and have found a photo editor thing which I'm finally happy with. It's nowhere near Photoshop, but it'll do me alright for now :o)

I pulled out one of my old digis from Spesch. I seriously love these digi images and they are so much fun to colour. Coupled with my lovely October Afternoon papers, I'm happy with this combo :o)

Challenges
DYSU - Friendly Critters.
Stampin for the Weekend - Ready Teddy Go.
Sweet Stampin - Dies and Doodles.
Paper Sundaes - Kraft and Dies.
Creative Card Crew - Kraft.

After my little blip, hopefully I will be back tomorrow!

Some Odd Girl.....GDT.....Little Project!

Happy Monday everyone! Life seems to have returned to warp speed for me at the moment, so please excuse the sporadic posting! Unbelievably, this madness is totally caused by the fact that I've booked a week off work next week. It just seems daft that I will probably end up working stupid hours this week, just to have a week off next week! Anyhow, enough moaning....!!!

I have a special little project to share with you today. As you know, I am guest designed with Some Odd Girl for the month of February. When she offered me the GDT spot, Kristy asked me to make 1 extra special project. This got me thinking (and panicking!) right away and I started prowling around the house, looking for something to alter. Then I stumbled across a boring, black A5 folder that has been unused, gathering dust for the last couple of years. A plan was cunningly hatched.....!

As I always seem to be watching my weight (NOTE: I don't eat particularly bad stuff, I just have portion control issues!) I thought it would be a great idea to make a little food journal so that I can jot everything down. I figured that if it looked pretty, I might be a little more inclined to make use of it. Baker Kaylee seemed the perfect choice for this project, even if she is tempting me to eat muffins!

I also decorated the spine of the folder using a SOG cupcake which I resized and repeated to make a little border. I thought this might help to make my folder stand out when it is stored on a shelf.

Goodie List........
Stamps: Baker Kaylee and Cupcake - both Some Odd Girl.
Paper: October Afternoon - Fly a Kite.
Copic Markers: E00, E02, E11, E41, E43, E47, E49, E50, R20, R22, R27, R29, YG03, YG63, YG67, BG13, BG15, BG23, BG49, Y21, Y26, YR23, W1, W3, W5, W7.
Tools & Embellishments: Doodlebug rub-ons, Nesties, sewing machine and ribbon from stash.

The challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar this week is "Anything but a card", so I think I will enter my folder in to the draw

I hope you enjoyed seeing my little project. Make sure you nip over to Some Odd Girl to check out their fantastic goodies.... there is even a sale on!

New Baby

Hi there! What a glorious day?! Hope you are outside and enjoying yourself. I have to admit that I've actually been wrapped up indoors crafting. Well, I had to.... it was an emergency! One of my best friends gave birth to a little girl late last night and I just realised that, despite 9 months warning, I hadn't yet made a card! Now, some people love making baby cards. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them and really struggle to make them. I hope this one fits the bill though...

I decided to whip out my sewing machine and I'm really glad I did as I had forgotten how much I enjoy playing with it!

As this card is for a special occasion, I also decorated the inside. Not something I would normally do but I really like how it has turned out. Simple but effective :o)

Goodie List........
Stamps: 'Smile' - Popcorn the Bear - available from Dies to Die For.
Paper: 'Ducks in a Row' -  October Afternoon.
Copic Markers: E29, E31, E33, E35, E37, E59, R81, R83, R85, YG03, YG23, YG63, YG67, BG15, BG23, BG49, YR23, Y17, Y21, W1, W3, W5, W7 - available HERE from Dies to Die For.
Tools & Embellishments: Sewing machine, Whimsy Stamps Sentiment, pearls from stash.

I am going to enter this in to this weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge - 'Animal Antics'. As I've used quite a few DP's here, I think I am also safe to enter this one in to Do You Stack Up's 'Patterned Paper' challenge.
Okey-dokey, time for me to skiddaddle and get the roast chicken on!

A New Obsession.....

Ooh... I just love these little babies! Simply Betty.... have you heard of them?! So super funky and I just lurve colouring them! I also whipped out some more October Afternoon papers that I bought ages ago and just haven't got round to using.

Goodie List........
Stamps: 'Betty' from the My Kids Emo World - Simply Betty.
Paper: Thrift Shop by October Afternoon.
Copic Markers: E00, E02, E11, E29, E31, E33, E35, E37, E50, R20, R22, R81, R83, R85, BG01, BG05, BG09, BG15, BG23, Y21, Y26, Y28, YR23, BG49, W1, W3, W5, W7 - available HERE from Dies to Die For.

Ooh, before I forget, I followed the sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday for this card. I must point out though that I rotated the sketch clockwise 90 degrees and then flipped it along the top axis....  I'll show you a piccy of how the sketch looked after I'd done all this!

Hope that makes sense :o) Anyway, gotta dash, at work being naughty again. Lets hope this week goes quickly, huh?!

Tiddly Inks!

A mega speedy one from me today as I'm at work and everyone is slowly phoning in sick! Eek! Anyway, as you've probably realised from my recent post, I went on a bit of a digi-shopping-spree the other day! One of those which I picked up was this super cute Tiddly Inks image.... So cute!

Goodie List........
Stamps: 'School Girl' by Tiddly Inks.
Paper: 'Report Card' by October Afternoon.
Copic Markers: E00, E02, E11, E29, E31, E33, E35, E37, E50, R20, R22, R32, R35, R37, R59, YG03, YG63, YG67, B32, B39, B45, W1, W3, W5, W7 - available from Dies to Die For.
Tools & Embellishments: EK Success Punch, ribbon and pearls from stash.

I'm going to enter this little one in to this weeks Tiddly Inks challenge. The challenge is 'Just Be Me' and the team want you to make a card which reflects your personality. Well, I thought that this little lady was pretty representative of me as.....

a) I work in a University and so am  generally surrounded by books and academia.
b) At home, when I'm not crafting, I permanently have my head buried in a book (or my Kindle!).
c) I love bright and bold colours!

The only thing on my card that isn't like me is that I am actually blonde, not a brunette! I'm afraid I went for what would look better with my lovely papers, rather than how I actually look in real life! In addition, my legs are unfortunately 4 times the size of this pretty little thing....!

Hope you are having a good week. At least it's nearly the weekend! ~♥~

Fairy-tastic

Crikey, I'm doing well on the posting front at the moment! I guess it helps that I've been making lots of cards and so actually have something to show you! I'm so thankful that the craziness of September-December last year has finally died down and I finally have my life back!

I really enjoyed making today's card. I've fancied this Motivet image for ages and so was overjoyed the other day when I realised that it was now available in digi form!

Isn't she the cutest?! I also got to exercise my other new paper pad which I wasn't technically supposed to buy! What can I say? I have a weakness when it comes to Cosmo Cricket and October Afternoon!

Goodie List........
Stamps:
Paper: 'Fly a Kite' by October Afternoon.
Copic Markers: E00, E02, E11, E29, E31, E33, E35, E37, E50, R20, R22, R27, R29, R81, R83, R85, YG03, YG63, YG67, B00, B02, B05, Y17, Y21, YR23, W1, W3, W5, W7 - available HERE from Dies to Die For.

If you look closely, there are also a few challenge boxes ticked in this card too......

Sketch Saturday - Sketch..... obviously! ;o)
Stamp Something - Anything Goes...Stamp Something!

Can you believe it is only Tuesday?! It's mental at work because the exams have now started and I am literally counting down the minutes until it's the weekend again!

Hope you are all fine and dandy,

Cute Little Makes

Everybody needs a quick little make sometimes, right? Well, I knocked this little pair up super quick with a couple of mega cute little CC Designs stamps from Dies to Die For.

My colouring is a bit iffy unfortunately but I think the papers make up for it. I could literally eat these babies. On. Toast. Mmmmm. Anyway, I'm going to enter this little duo in to the challenges at Cute Card Thursday (Whateva) and Creative Card Crew (Cute and Girly).

Goodie List........
Stamps: 'Flower Power' Itzie Inkies by CC Designs, available HERE from DTDF.
Paper: Ducks in a Row by October Afternoon.
Copic Markers: E29, E31, E33, E35, E37, E50, E51, E53, R81, R83, R85, YG03, YG63, YG67, Y15, Y17, YR23, W1, W3, W5, W7 - available HERE from DTDF.

So True....!

I stopped drooling from afar and finally treated myself to some fabulous October Afternoon papers. I just love these papers but they are a little hard to get hold of as everyone seems to love them as much as me! I have a few more 8x8 pads on my wishlist, but I guess I'll just have to wait until they come back in to stock :o(

I really enjoyed playing with this fun stamp as it tied in to my papers perfectly. Isn't that sentiment SO true?! I have to admit though, it took me a blinkin' age to colour in that dress. I'm quite heavy handed with my colouring and so I do not know how I managed to avoid all of those polka dots on her dress!

Goodie List........
Stamps: 'Housework Diva' by the Diva Collection from DTDF.
Paper: 'Report Card' by October Afternoon.
Copic Markers: E00, E11, E50, R02, R35, R37, R59, YR23, Y15, Y17, B32, B39, B45, W1, W3, W5, W7 - available HERE from DTDF.

Due to the abundance of spots on this cards, I'm going to enter it in to this weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge. I also nearly forgot, but I followed the sketch over at the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog.

I'm off to visit the 'rentals on the Isle of Wight for a few days so I might not be able to visit you for a short while. I look forward to catching up when I get back :o)

Happy Fathers Day Dad!

What a lovely weekend Ali and I had! We were asked to do some mystery shopping and were lucky enough to get to stay here for the night. The room was totally gorgeous and we did a bit of exploring around the New Forest, which was really nice. Eating fish and chips on the quay in Lymington was a bit of a highlight, as was the visit to the lovely craft shop in Lyndhurst. They sell Copics and have a 'paper room'...... need I say more?!

Now, whilst I am late in sharing this card with you, I promise I did get it to my Dad on time! Although I didn't get to see him on the big day (Mum and Dad are still on the Isle of Wight), we did have a lengthy discussion on the phone about whether Michael Schumacher really is The Stig! I'm now pretty sure he isn't but I love the fact that he could be!

Right, back to my card.... this one is a bit of a Dies to Die For feast for you as both the stamps and the papers are available from Tracy's amazing shop. The image and sentiment I have used is from this fabulous My Favorite Things set, which is perfect for any man in your life. It's not just for father's day either as there are all sorts of sentiments which would cover you for most occasions.

Goodie List........
Stamps:
Let's Hear it For the Boys - MFT - From DTDF
Paper: October Afternoon - Nightlight Henry - From DTDF
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copic markers.
Embellishments: Silver brads and ribbon from stash.

Right, well I will be back tomorrow with my Copic Colour Challenge DT card! See you soon folks!
