A Spoon Full of Sugar - Pink & Green

Sorry for not posting a card since last week - I've been too busy colouring up images with my new Pro Markers! Oh, how I love them! Such great colours and so easy to work with.

After several days of play, I finally decided that I had done far too much colouring and that I really did need to start turning the images into cards! So, without further ado, I present to you my entry into this weeks A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge - Pink & Green........

I started off by layering some pink Core'dinations cardstock onto my card blank. Onto this, I layered more Core'dinations pink card and three strips of DCWV Spring papers. I tied a bow around this panel and added a 'Thanks' metal tag from the Eyelet Outlet. I coloured my Alota image with Pro Markers (mmm, yummy!) and outlined the image to make it 'pop'. The image was then layered onto a Nestie rectangle (which I hacked a bit out of to make it shorter!) and mounted onto the card with 3D pads. The whole thing was finished off with some Primas and a silver brad.

My First DT Card!

Blimey, what a scary experience?! I've made my first ever Am I a Scrap Addict? DT sketch card! I initially started panicking a bit, worrying that my cards will look rubbish next to everyone elses but in the end, managed to get a grip! The sketch was a real tricky one too so I am so pleased that this attempt turned out as well as it did.

I found a flower outline online and traced this on to my folded card blank. I then covered it with yellow Bazzill Bling card stock (can't remember the actual name - sorry!). I cut a large circle from black Bling and then another, smaller circle in the centre of that. This then formed the flap/window on the front of my card. I coloured a Pink Petticoat bee with Prismacolors and Sansodor and mounted this behind the black window, adding Stickles for a little sparkle. I added a sentiment printed from the PC and decorated the finished card with a homemade flower embellishment and lots of adhesive gems.

I think I took the sketch rather more literally than I was supposed to (!) but this was the first idea to jump into my mind when I saw the sketch so I decided just to go for it!

Hard Work....

Although I LOVE both my Rubber Romance stamps and also my Basic Grey papers, I find both incredibly tricky to work with. Consequently, this card felt like fairly hard work!

I used my Girlfriends on a Bench RR stamp and coloured using my Whisper pens and a watercolour brush. Not sure how successful the colouring has been though....! I layered it onto Two Scoops papers. I finished this simple card with ribbon and a metal tag from Eyelet Outlet.

I'm not sure why I find the Rubber Romance stamps tricky to work with. I think I am fine with the simple designs - for example, Samantha and Fiona which I've already used. However, I seem to find the more complex designs a bit more tricky as they are so big and intricate that it is hard to match them with things that 'work' without the whole thing looking mismatched and cluttered. I think I'll have to keep practicing!

......and Samantha the Martini Girl!

Well, as you have probably guessed, this is the 2nd card to be made with my new Rubber Romance stamps. This is Samantha........

As you can tell, another very simple card.....! Firstly, I mounted some Pink Petticoat paper onto a black card blank. I coloured Samantha with Whisper pens and mounted her onto more black card. I wrapped white ribbon around the card and tied both a black and a white bow to tied it in to the rest of the card. I finished the design with 3 white brads from the Eyelet Outlet.

How sassy is she?!

Pink Polka-Dots - 'Going Dotty'!

Ahh, I love bank holiday weekends....... all that time to sit and craft! Here is something I knocked up out of some freebie magazine papers and my new cosmobella stamp.

I know it's quite simple but I love this card - it's just so bright and girly!

UPDATE: Sharon has just given me a fab tip off! It would seem that this weeks challenge over at Funky Fairies Challenge Blog is 'Going Dotty'! I have an inkling that this card may fit the bill (!) so consider this my entry! Thanks Shari-Anne! ~x~
